EU Taxonomy
Aligned Data

The ENGAGE Portal is a dedicated IT infrastructure with a three-fold function:

  • A tool to assess the alignment of real estate financing activities, including mortgages and home renovation loans, with the EU Taxonomy Regulation;
  • A centralised repository for sustainable finance information from banks and lending institutions;
  • A source for data users, such as institutional investors, to perform their due diligence on the sustainability alignment of residential real estate portfolios.

Assess the Alignment of Real Estate Financing Activities with the EU Taxonomy Regulation

Lending institutions will upload the ENGAGE Templates with information of their respective loan portfolios or transactions. Through a simple “click” the ENGAGE Portal will process the data uploaded and will produce two private reports accessible to the lending institution:

  • An EU Taxonomy alignment report

Alongside the generation of a data quality report, the ENGAGE Portal issues an EU Taxonomy alignment report based on the adherence of the loans with the technical screening criteria for activities 7.1, 7.7 or 7.2 of Annex I of the Climate Delegated Act.

  • A data quality report

The ENGAGE Portal integrates the ENGAGE Templates, as well as a series of data quality rules that help institutions identify and correct integrity, consistency and timeliness data errors.

In addition, the ENGAGE Portal can also detect format errors in the reported files and allows the resubmission of the files for reassessment.

The EU Taxonomy alignment report includes a breakdown by section (7.1, 7.7,7.2), facilitating both an aggregated and a granular view of the degree of alignment, at percentage, loan amount, building units amount and balances.

Centralise, Manage, and Share ESG Information

The ENGAGE Portal operates as a virtual data room for ESG information where lending institutions can safely store the ENGAGE Templates, as well as additional relevant ESG documentation.

The information is stored in a private area managed by the relevant financial institution.

Access Data for Due Diligence Purposes

Lending institutions uploading ESG data to the ENGAGE Portal can make the portfolios or transaction data available to third parties at their discretion.

Through an automatic invitation managed directly through the ENGAGE Portal, investors may be given access to the relevant deals and review the required information to comply with their due diligence process.
